Privacy on quote pages

1. Who is responsible

The firm that sent you the link is the controller of your data in the quote (your name, address, contact details, and the work quoted) and of your answers. Its name and address are at the top of the quote; contact the firm about anything concerning your data.

WireWhy, run by DevUnit.pl Mateusz Hinca, ul. Arcangela Corellego 17/12, 03-289 Warszawa, Polska, NIP 839-312-42-45, REGON 368565464, provides the page on the firm’s behalf, as its processor under a data processing agreement. You can also write to wirewhysupport@gmail.com; we pass your message on to the firm.

2. When you open the link

  • The page shows the quote as the firm prepared it: your name, the site’s address, the work, and the prices.
  • The firm sees that the link was opened and when (the first time).
  • If the firm attached photos or documents, the page shows those it chose when it sent the link; the photos carry no location data.
  • WireWhy counts quote pages opened, without a cookie or an identifier: the page is recorded as /q/:id, with the page’s language and the size class of the screen. The count cannot be linked to you.

3. When you accept or ask

Accept records that the quote was accepted and when; the firm sees it in its workspace. Nothing is paid on this page. Ask a question stores your question with its time and shows it to the firm; write only what the firm needs to answer you. The firm may answer by e-mail or SMS; the page then says that the answer was sent.

4. Messages from the firm

If the firm sends you the quote, a reminder, or an answer by e-mail or SMS through WireWhy, it comes from WireWhy’s sender on the firm’s behalf: an e-mail from mail@wirewhy.com with the firm’s name, or an SMS from "WireWhy", which cannot be answered by SMS. Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris) delivers it, with its data kept in the European Union. If you answer the e-mail, your answer (its text, your name and address, and any attachment) goes to the firm’s job in WireWhy, where only the firm reads it; attachments stay visible only to the firm.

Your address or number is used only for these messages. WireWhy keeps the messages and your answers with the firm’s job (who wrote, when, the text, whether it was delivered) until the firm deletes the job or your data; automatic replies and spam are discarded. The e-mail has no tracking pixels. If you do not want more messages, tell the firm.

5. Technical data

To deliver the page, our servers receive your IP address. It is used to limit how many requests one connection can make (held in memory for at most 10 minutes) and, in the request log, Microsoft Application Insights works out an approximate location (country and city) from it and then discards it. The link’s code is replaced by a placeholder in every log. These records keep the service secure and working; they are kept for up to 90 days.

6. No cookies

The quote page sets no cookies, loads no analytics or advertising, and sends no referrer to other sites. It may read the light or dark theme saved in your browser. If you choose "Open in WireWhy", the board is left in your browser’s local storage for up to ten minutes, with nothing about you. WireWhy’s own pages (the canvas, and this notice) are covered by WireWhy’s Privacy notice.

7. How long

The link works until the date shown on the page, or until the firm withdraws it. The quote and your answers stay with the firm’s job until the firm deletes the job or its workspace; they then leave the backups within 7 days.

8. Where

The data is stored in the European Union, in Microsoft Azure’s Poland Central region. No transfer outside the European Economic Area is planned.

Messages to you, and your e-mail answers, pass through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris), with their data kept in the European Union.

9. Legal basis

The firm decides why it processes your data: usually to prepare and make a contract with you at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or its legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). The anonymous count and the technical logs serve the legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and knowing how much it is used (Article 6(1)(f)).

10. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Ask the firm that sent the link; if you write to us, we pass your request on to the firm. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Poland the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl), in Brazil the ANPD (gov.br/anpd), or the authority where you live or work.
